Bring the traditional practice of gua sha massage into your everyday recovery and self-care routine with the Dr. Doug’s Bian Stone Gua Sha Collection, featuring hand-carved tools designed for the body, face and neck.

Each tool is crafted from 100% authentic Bian stone, a naturally occurring stone with a long history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The stone is hand-polished to create a smooth, non-porous surface that glides comfortably across the skin when paired with your favorite balm, moisturizer or body oil.

The collection includes dedicated Face & Neck and Body tools, allowing you to choose the size and shape best suited to your routine.

The smaller Face & Neck Gua Sha is designed for more precise work around the jawline, cheeks, forehead and neck. Gentle sweeping movements make it particularly useful for facial massage, temporary puffiness and releasing areas of everyday facial tension.

The larger Body Gua Sha covers more surface area and provides greater leverage for massage across the legs, arms, shoulders, back and abdomen. Its dual-edge design allows you to alternate between a smooth edge for broad sweeping strokes and a combed edge for more targeted massage.

Beyond skin care, the Body Gua Sha can become a useful part of an active recovery routine. Use it after strength training, running, hiking or long days on your feet to massage tired muscles and areas of tension.

How to Use

Apply a small amount of balm, moisturizer or body oil to clean skin before beginning. The product should provide enough slip for the stone to glide comfortably without pulling the skin.

Face & Neck

Hold the stone at approximately a 15–30° angle and use light pressure.

Glide gently:

  • From the chin toward the ear
  • From the nose outward toward the temple
  • From the center of the forehead outward
  • Very gently beneath the eyes
  • Along the neck using slow, controlled strokes

Use for approximately 5–10 minutes as part of your morning or evening skin-care routine.

Body

Apply your preferred balm or body oil and use longer sweeping movements across larger muscle groups.

The smooth edge is ideal for broad massage across the legs, arms, shoulders and back, while the combed edge can provide more concentrated stimulation over areas of muscular tension.

Use moderate pressure that feels comfortable rather than aggressively scraping the skin. A typical body session can last approximately 10–15 minutes.

For gentle lymphatic-style massage, light pressure is important. People with an active infection, history of DVT or blood clots, congestive heart failure, kidney disease, active cancer or open skin wounds should consult an appropriate healthcare professional before performing lymphatic drainage massage.
