Hair Mineral & Heavy Metals Analysis | Upgraded Formulas

Sometimes the most useful first step isn't adding another supplement. It's gathering better information.

The Upgraded Formulas Mineral Deficiency, Heavy Metals & Metabolism Analysis is an at-home Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis designed to provide a detailed look at mineral patterns, mineral ratios and the presence of selected heavy metals using a small sample of your hair.

Collection takes approximately five minutes, requires no needles or fasting, and can be completed entirely at home. Once your sample reaches the laboratory, it is analyzed for 13 nutritional elements and 8 heavy metals, providing a much broader picture than simply looking at one mineral in isolation.

The nutritional elements analyzed include familiar minerals such as magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium, zinc, copper, iron and selenium, along with phosphorus, manganese, chromium, molybdenum and sulfur.

The heavy-metal portion screens the sample for mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic, aluminum, beryllium, antimony and uranium.

Where the report becomes particularly interesting is in the relationships between minerals. Rather than simply providing individual measurements, HTMA looks at mineral ratios and patterns that may provide useful nutritional context when evaluating diet, supplementation and lifestyle.

Once testing is complete, your results are delivered electronically as a secure PDF report. Upgraded Formulas also offers versions that include a consultation with an Upgraded Certified Nutritionist who can help explain the report and discuss potential next steps.

This isn't intended to replace conventional bloodwork or medical testing. Hair and blood measure different biological compartments and can provide different kinds of information. Instead, HTMA can be viewed as another source of data for people who want to take a more informed and individualized approach to nutrition and mineral supplementation.

And importantly, the test is not a drug test.
