About the Author

Ryan Holiday is an author and modern writer on Stoic philosophy, personal development and practical wisdom. His books include The Obstacle Is the Way, Ego Is the Enemy, The Daily Stoic and Stillness Is the Key. His work has helped introduce Stoic ideas to a new generation of readers around the world.

Holiday also owns The Painted Porch, an independent bookstore in Bastrop, Texas.

Stephen Hanselman is an author and publishing professional with more than three decades of experience as a bookseller, publisher and literary agent. He earned a master's degree from Harvard Divinity School while also studying extensively in Harvard's philosophy department.

Together, Holiday and Hanselman have worked to make the ideas and history of ancient Stoicism accessible to contemporary readers.
