Features & Specifications

Improve your squat setup with the 20 Degree SumoWedgie, an extra-wide slant board designed for heel-elevated squats, lower-body strength training, calf stretching and mobility work.

Unlike narrow slant boards or individual heel wedges, the SumoWedgie provides a single 24-inch-wide platform that supports both feet at once. That gives you room to train with sumo, wide or narrow squat stances while maintaining a stable and consistent heel elevation.

The fixed 20-degree slope reduces the amount of ankle dorsiflexion required during a squat, making it easier to maintain a more upright torso and explore greater squat depth when ankle mobility would otherwise be limiting.

Its generous 13-inch platform depth also allows you to vary foot placement along the slope, making the SumoWedgie useful for more than squats. Incorporate it into calf raises, step-downs, hip thrust variations and calf or hamstring stretches as part of a broader strength and mobility routine.

For stability, the board combines a grip surface for the feet with four silicone grips underneath, helping keep the platform planted while you concentrate on your movement rather than repositioning equipment between sets.

Despite its size, the SumoWedgie weighs only 4 pounds, making it portable enough to move around a home gym or take with you for training.

For lifters looking for a 20-degree squat wedge, wide slant board or heel-elevated squat platform, the SumoWedgie offers a simple way to add consistent elevation to lower-body training.

How to Use

Place the SumoWedgie on a stable, level surface with the grip side facing upward.

For heel-elevated squats, position both heels on the slope with your toes extending toward the lower edge. Choose a comfortable narrow, standard or wide stance and perform your squat using controlled movement and appropriate resistance.

The board can also be used for:

  • Sumo and wide-stance squats
  • Heel-elevated squats
  • Calf raises
  • Step-downs
  • Calf stretching
  • Hamstring and posterior-chain mobility work

For stretching, reverse your foot position so the toes are elevated and gradually lean into the stretch while maintaining control.

When adding external weight, become comfortable with the elevated position first and use loads appropriate for your experience and ability.
